These terms cover buying Straud. Using it is covered separately by the licence agreement, which you accept when you install it.
If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy: straud.dev@gmail.com.
Straud is produced by the Straud Development Team, an independent software developer based in Thailand. You can reach us at straud.dev@gmail.com.
Payment is taken by our authorised reseller, who acts as merchant of record for the sale and is named at checkout and on your receipt. That means they are the seller for tax purposes: they handle payment, VAT, GST and sales tax, and they appear on your card statement. Their terms apply to the payment itself; these terms apply to what you receive.
Straud Free is free to download and use, including commercially, for as long as you like. It runs every check and reports every finding, with its severity and title. It does not show the evidence behind a finding, what it means, or what to do about it, and it does not include the features that keep state between sessions — the trial ledger, sealed holdouts, portfolio checks and the AI-assistant integration.
Nothing on this page obliges you to buy anything to keep using Straud Free. It is not a trial and it does not expire.
Straud Full is the paid edition. It adds the measured evidence behind every finding, the mechanism in plain language, the remedy, and the features above. The rest of this page concerns buying it.
Both editions are covered by the same licence agreement.
A perpetual licence to the version you buy, under the licence agreement, and a download containing:
A SHA256SUMS.txt file is published alongside the download, so you can check
that what you received is what we built.
There is no account, no activation, no licence key and no online check. Straud runs offline and works permanently once downloaded. We rely on you to honour the licence rather than on technical enforcement.
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency offered there.
VAT, GST or sales tax is added where your jurisdiction requires it, calculated and remitted by the merchant of record. Business buyers can usually enter a VAT or tax number at checkout to have it handled correctly.
Delivery is by download, immediately after payment. You will receive a link by email.
If the download does not arrive within one hour, check your spam folder, then email us. We will send it directly.
Straud is delivered as a download and works permanently once you have it. We cannot take it back, so refunds are conditional rather than automatic.
We will refund you in full, within 30 days of purchase, if Straud does not work as this documentation says it does. That includes:
Tell us what happened and we will either fix it quickly or refund you. If we cannot make it work for you, you get your money back.
A refund ends your licence to Straud Full on the day it is issued: stop using it and delete your copies. Straud Free is unaffected — it is free, and you keep it. Reports you produced while you were licensed remain yours.
There is no technical enforcement of this, for the same reason there is no licence key: we rely on you to honour it.
Either route works, and you do not need both:
We deliberately provide the first route so that a refund does not depend on us being reachable.
You normally have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once download begins, provided you agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged losing the right — which the checkout will ask you to confirm.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory right you have. Where such a right applies, it takes precedence over the terms above, and we will honour it.
Support is by email at straud.dev@gmail.com.
What is covered: installation problems, defects, questions about what a finding means, and questions about how to run a check.
What is not: advice on your strategies, interpretation of your results as a trading recommendation, or help with software that is not Straud.
We aim to reply within two business days. Straud is maintained by a small team, so this is a genuine aim rather than a contractual service level.
A security vulnerability? Please report it privately to
straud.dev@gmail.com rather than posting publicly. Tell us what you did,
what happened, and which version (straud --version). We will acknowledge
within five business days, and will credit you when a report leads to a fix
unless you would rather we did not.
Fixes and improvements to the version you bought are provided free while that version is supported.
If we release a major new version, it may be a paid upgrade. We will say so clearly and never charge you automatically. Buying Straud never creates a recurring charge unless you explicitly bought a subscription.
Straud's checks and thresholds change between versions as its calibration improves. Every report records the version that produced it, so an old result can always be traced to the code behind it.
Straud itself collects nothing. It runs on your machine, has no network capability and no telemetry, and your research data never reaches us.
Buying is different, because a purchase needs an email address and a payment. The merchant of record takes and holds the payment details under their own privacy policy — we never see your card. What reaches us is your email address and a record of what you bought, which we use to deliver your download, answer support questions, and tell you about updates to the version you own. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing with it.
Ask us to delete it and we will, apart from what we have to keep as a record of the sale.
You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
If something outside our control delays delivery or support — an outage at the reseller, a network failure — we will put it right as soon as we reasonably can, rather than either of us treating the delay as a breach.
These terms and the licence agreement together are the whole agreement between us about Straud. If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
We may update these terms for future purchases. The version in force is the one published when you buy, and we will not change the terms of a purchase you have already made.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.
